もう少しで春 16.February.2024

今月、２月の異称には、雪消月（雪が解け始める月）、恵風（恵みの風、春風が吹く頃）、木芽月（木の芽が出る月）、令月（めでたい月、何をするにも良いとされる月）などがあるそうです。どれも春の喜びを感じられる美しい呼称です。
今年は年明けから大きな災害や事故が相次ぎ、当たり前の日常がどれほど貴重なものか改めて思い知らされる機会になりました。被害に遭われた方々には、心よりお見舞い申し上げますとともに、１日も早く心穏やかに暮らせる日々が訪れますことを願ってやみません。

春本番までもう少し、皆様どうぞご自愛くださいませ。

Spring is almost here

February in Japanese has various meanings such as “the month when the snow begins to melt”, “the month blessed wind or Spring breeze”, “the month when trees start to sprout”, and “the month which provides good fortune for any new endeavor”. All of these names are beautiful and evoke the joys of Spring.
The year began with a major natural disaster along the north coast of Japan and a tragic air accident, which reminded us how precious it is to have an ordinary and peaceful life. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to those who were affected by these disasters and sincerely hope they can resume their ordinary and peaceful lives soon.
