2017年の初雪 15.January.2017

ギメルの山に２０１７年の初雪が降りました。アトリエの職人たちは雪だるまやかまくらをつくって、大はしゃぎです。残念なことに年々雪が少なくなって、こんな風に遊べたのは久しぶりです。先日来社したスイスの宝石商も最近は冬の訪れが遅く、アルプスにも雪が少なくなったと話していて、地球規模で温暖化が進んでいるのを実感しました。私達一人一人が、どんなに小さなことでも地球環境にやさしく努力することが大切だと感じる時でもありました。

It is the first snow fall to the mountains of Gimel for this 2017 winter season. Our Atelier staff was all excited as if going back to their childhood and made snow mans and snow caves since it has been a while we last played with our hands in the snow. It is with saddened hearts but we must acknowledge that with each year the snow fall has lessened. The topic of snow getting lesser each year was also mentioned recently by a jeweler from Switzerland, noting the decrease of snow in the mountains. The awareness of Global Warming has definitely increased and further bringing the matter to our immediate attention. We, one and all, no matter how small, need to participate in treating our planet with more delicate care.
