深まる秋 6.October.2021

秋も深まってきました。先日は中秋の名月を愛でながら香港の友人が送ってくれた月餅を皆で味わいました。ギメルを囲む山では次々と滋味豊かな自然の恵みが収穫されています。人の顔の大きさほどもある香茸や太くて立派な松茸も採れました。赤く色づいた山椒の実は乾燥させて薬味にします。 今年で３年目になる干し柿づくりの準備も始めています。少しずつ日常が戻りつつあります。出来ることなら、コロナ禍前の“普通”の生活に戻るのではなく“さらによい日常”になることを目指して努力や工夫をしていきたいと思います。

As it gets cooler outside, autumn leaves are changing color dramatically. We cherished harvest moon with moon cakes my friend sent from Hong Kong. Wild delicacies are found in Gimel’s mountain such as gigantic Kohtake mushroom (Sarcodon aspratus), Matsutake mushroom and so on. Red ripen Japanese Sansho pepper are dried under the sun and ground to be enjoyed as seasoning. I am also getting ready for making 800 dried persimmons this year. Our life is slowly returning to normalcy. But we are determined to try harder not just to return to what used to be the pre-covid pandemic normal life but to achieve a much better “normal life” than before.
